Fair Employment and Housing Act of 1963 |

- Primary state law that prohibits discrimination in the sale, rental, lease negotiation or financing of housing.
- Excluded from the Act are owner-occupied houses with no more than one boarder, certain non-commercial religious, fraternal, cheritable or post-secondary housing that has restrictions based upon sex and marital status.
- The Department of Fair Employment and Housing has full power to investigate, conciliate and litigate for the Fair Employment and Housing Commission.
- Private lawsuits may also be filed.
