Filing your complaint with Inland Fair Housing

How Inland Fair Housing and Mediation Board operates

1. Call Inland Fair Housing (click here to find an office near you). You will be interviewed and the case developed. Documentation is obtained and issues on how to proceed are discussed.

2. During the case development, if further investigation is deemed necessary, testing can be done.

3. Once the investigation is completed, you will be advised of the alternatives available in proceeding with the complaint. Viable alternative include:

a. Mediation/conciliation.

b. Administrative filing with the Department of Housing and Urban Development (HUD).

c. Administrative filing with the California State Department of Fair Employment and Housing (DFEH).

d. Referral for consideration to the Department of Justice (DOJ), Civil Rights Division, Housing and Civil Enforcement Section.

e. Referral to a privat attorney for possible litigation.

In cases where the complaint is referred, Inland Fair Housing monitors it to its final outcome.
